Community Guidelines for Atlanta Writes LLC

Welcome to Atlanta Writes! Our community thrives on creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect. To ensure a positive and productive environment for everyone, we’ve established the following guidelines. Please read them carefully and abide by them to help foster a safe and inspiring space for all writers.
1. Respectful Communication
- Engage in discussions with politeness and courtesy.
- Avoid personal attacks, insults, or harassment.
- Disagreements are natural but must be handled respectfully and constructively.
2. No Hate Speech or Discrimination
- Language or actions targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or other personal characteristics will not be tolerated.
- We are committed to maintaining a space free of discrimination and hate speech.
3. Privacy and Consent
- Respect the privacy of others. Do not share someone else’s personal information (e.g., full name, contact details, or private conversations) without explicit consent.
- Protect your own privacy by avoiding sharing sensitive personal details publicly.
4. No Spam or Excessive Self-Promotion
- Posting self-promotional content (e.g., links to blogs, books, or services) is allowed only in the designated Promo Channel.
- Spamming, irrelevant content, or repeated messages in discussions are prohibited.
- Focus on contributing value to the group rather than advertising yourself.
5. Disclaimer for the Promo Section
- The Promo Section is a space for Atlanta Writes members to promote their expertise and services, such as editing, graphic design, and other professional offerings. While we encourage collaboration and connections within the community, Atlanta Writes does not vet, endorse, or guarantee the quality, reliability, or legitimacy of any services or transactions conducted through this section.
- By using the Promo Section, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Exchange at Your Own Risk:
- All interactions, exchanges, and transactions between members are conducted at your own risk.
- No Liability:
- Atlanta Writes accepts no liability for any disputes, monetary losses, theft of information, stolen work, or any other damages resulting from interactions initiated in the Promo Section.
- Due Diligence:
- Members are responsible for conducting their own research and due diligence before engaging in any business or professional relationships. This includes verifying credentials, pricing, and terms of service.
- Confidentiality and Security:
- Members should take appropriate steps to protect their personal information, intellectual property, and financial details when engaging with others in the Promo Section.
- Disputes:
- Atlanta Writes will not mediate or resolve disputes arising from transactions or agreements between members.
- Reporting Misconduct:
- If you suspect fraudulent activity or misconduct, please report it to the moderators. However, Atlanta Writes’ role is limited to maintaining the integrity of the platform and does not extend to dispute resolution.
- By participating in the Promo Section, you agree to release Atlanta Writes from any and all claims, liabilities, or damages arising from your use of this space. We encourage all members to engage responsibly and respectfully while making the most of the opportunities available in the Promo Section.
6. Stay on Topic
- Keep discussions relevant to the focus of the group: writing, critique, and creative growth.
- Off-topic conversations should be redirected to appropriate spaces or private messages.
7. Follow Copyright and Legal Regulations
- Do not share content (e.g., text, images, or resources) that violates copyright laws or terms of service.
- If sharing others’ work, always give proper credit and ensure you have permission.
- Do not post illegal, pirated, or unauthorized materials.
Note that we do not accept:- pornographic images or videos;
- graphic or disturbing media;
- content promoting the sexual, violent, or other exploitation of minors, including the sexualization of fictional minors.
8. Be Mindful of Others
- Consider how your words and actions may affect others.
- Be sensitive to different perspectives, and approach discussions with empathy and understanding.
9. Use Appropriate Language
- Avoid profanity, vulgar language, or any terms that may be offensive to others.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming tone in all communications.
10. Be Patient and Understanding
- Online communication lacks tone and context, which can lead to misunderstandings.
- Give others the benefit of the doubt, and clarify your intent if your words are misinterpreted.
11. Report Abuse
- If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to the moderators or administrators immediately.
- Do not engage with or escalate inappropriate behavior—let the moderators handle it.
12. Moderation and Enforcement
- Moderators reserve the right to remove content or take action (e.g., warnings, suspensions, or bans) against members who violate these guidelines.
- Repeat offenses or serious violations may result in permanent removal from the group.
13. Contribute Positively
- Share your insights, participate in discussions, and offer constructive critiques.
- Encourage and support fellow writers in their creative journeys.
