Join One of Atlanta’s Most Supportive Critique Group

Looking for a writer’s group that actually helps you grow? Whether you’re revising a novel, finishing your first short story, or just trying to get back into the writing groove, our Atlanta Writes Critique Groups are built to sharpen your craft—without crushing your confidence.

Atlanta Writes- A vibrant city skyline at sunset with tall buildings, including a tower with a pointed copper roof. The sky glows pink and orange. In the foreground, curving highways and blurred car lights suggest a city where writers or critique group members might gather.

We’re more than just a writing group near you—we’re a literary community that understands the creative process, celebrates your voice, and gives you actionable, respectful feedback in a safe, encouraging space.

Why Join a Critique Group?

Feedback is fuel.
When you’re too close to your own work, it’s easy to miss plot holes, flat characters, or clunky pacing. A critique group helps you see your work from a reader’s perspective and pushes you to become a better writer—with every submission.
In our writing groups, you’ll:

  • Get thoughtful, actionable critiques from writers who care
  • Learn how to improve without losing your voice
  • Give feedback that sharpens your own storytelling instincts
  • Meet fellow creatives who actually “get it”

Our environment is built on kindness, growth, and mutual respect―ideal for the writer who has never joined a writer’s group and the seasoned pro who may have more to offer than meets the eye.

How It Works

We host two regular critique sessions every other week—one on Thursday evenings and one on Saturday mornings. You can RSVP directly from the calendar below and choose whichever date fits your schedule.
Submissions are welcome but never required. You can show up just to listen, give feedback, and soak in the literary energy.

You’ll leave with new insights, fresh ideas, and a boost of confidence—plus a community of fellow writers cheering you on.

Our format is:

  • Submit up to 3,000 words of fiction, nonfiction, or a screenplay
  • Poetry welcome (1,200-word limit)
  • Submissions are due a few days before each session
  • Feedback is always diplomatic, respectful, and constructive

we welcome writers from around the world
