AtlantaWrites.com is an extension of the Atlanta Writes community of writers. Although the group’s name signals its place of origin, the group is open to all through online events.
Our aim is to support the members of our community in their journey to publication and provide a platform where talented writers can gain much-needed exposure.
We’re writers of all genres. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to seasoned writers.
We host online and in-person meetings. Join the community for access to our calendar of events, free courses on writing, and more.

Terra, a contributing editor for AtlantaWrites.com, has written for humorous websites, professional blogs and has been a ghostwriter for CEO’s of several technology companies. She recently served as the Director of Awards for the Georgia chapter of Romance Writers of America, and she volunteers regularly at the Atlanta Writers Conference.
Her unpublished novel, Cutting Chords, is a 2019 Maggie Award finalist, and winner of the 2018 Fool for Love contest.
She’s currently the editor-in-chief at MeetCutePress.
Beyond the pen, Terra is a coffee addict and an inactive activewear wearer.
Mary, senior event organizer for the Atlanta Writes Meetup group, hosts the Thursday critique sessions. She loves getting to know local Atlanta writers and hearing their stories (fact or fiction). She’s been published in Deep South Magazine and has had a short play produced at the Atlanta Cuban Club (thanks to the wonderful talent behind Merely Players Presents). She is currently working on achieving her New Year’s Resolution — finish the stinkin’ novel before the end of the year!
DeShawn, senior editor for AtlantaWrites.com, is a novelist, avid traveler, and real fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants type who enjoys shots of adrenaline and welcomes a little mystery into her life. Passionate about literary arts, her published works include novels, short stories, and a series of children’s books.
Adding poetry to her literary loves, DeShawn’s work has been featured in Blue Mountain Review – The Southern Collective Experience. She currently works as a freelance writer and editor and is doubling down on her knowledge of the written word by pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing.
